Week 1

Week 2

Move different ways to the music. Follow the directions and freeze! ESGMK.RE.3 Move to a varied repertoire of music, alone and with others. a. Respond to contrasts and events in music with locomotor movement (e.g. walk, run, hop, jump, gallop, skip) and non-locomotor movement (e.g. bend, twist, stretch, turn).

Create your own shaker instrument. You can fill an Easter egg or empty water bottle with dry rice, beans or beads. (Make sure you tape it shut so that it doesn't open up when you play!) Be creative and good luck! After you've created your instrument, play along with this song or any other songs you like!  ESGMK.PR.2 Perform a varied repertoire of music on instruments, alone and with others. b. Perform steady beat and simple rhythmic patterns with appropriate technique using body percussion and classroom instruments.

Week 3

Week 4

"Pat Your Hands on the Drum"

Find something you can use as a drum in your home and follow along with this lesson that I recorded for you. ESGMK.PR.2 Perform a varied repertoire of music on instruments, alone and with others. a. Week 5

"Garden Gate Rhythm Lesson 1"

Let's read some rhythms in this lesson that I recorded for you. ESGMK.PR.3 Read and Notate music.  a. Read, notate, and identify quarter notes, quarter rests, and barred eighth notes using iconic or standard notation.

 

Sing an echo song with my friend, Mr. Homer (Argyle Elementary School). ESGMK.PR.1 Sing a varied repertoire of music, alone and with others. b. Echo simple singing and speech patterns. 

Sing a song story, "I Bought Me a Cat" from earlier this year. Compare and contrast this song with "Had a Little Rooster". How are the song stories alike? How are they different? Week 6

"Garden Gate Rhythm Lesson 2"

Let's read some new rhythms in this lesson that I recorded for you. ESGMK.PR.3 Read and Notate music.  a. Read, notate, and identify quarter notes, quarter rests, and barred eighth notes using iconic or standard notation.

 

"I Met a Bear"

Continue learning an echo song with my friend, Mr. Homer (Argyle Elementary School). We're adding more verses this week! ESGMK.PR.1 Sing a varied repertoire of music, alone and with others. b. Echo simple singing and speech patterns. 

Listen to me sing the song story "Jennie Jenkins". My daughter loves to call this one "Oh my dear, oh my dear" probably because that is the first part she started to sing! Maybe you'll catch on and sing some, too! ESGMK.PR.1 Sing a varied repertoire of music, alone and with others. a. Week 7
